My mom and I tackled the kitchen first... While taking care of my 2year old.... Which by the way SUCKED.... That kitchen was soooooooooooooooo gross that it took us almost a week to really fully clean it .. Plus the main bathroom was so gross the first day my husband and my dad had to replace the Toilet and the sub floor.... But only after my mom cried out in disgust for at least 15 min in her attempt to clean it... Lol... I still laugh about that.
This is my new toilet! ... And now what my bathroom looks like...lol... Better than the gross other one!
Still nothing could have prepared us for the trials of the cat pee carpet in the living room. On the left side of the living room we saw a few stains and thought... We will have it and the rest of the house professionally cleaned and all our problems with the carpet, which still looked good in that room.... Would be solved. Well, a few hundred dollars later we ended up replacing the two first floor bedrooms carpet. They were just too worn out.The living room carpet looked way better, but still smelled like cat pee... Especially since the weather was getting warmer... And I was pregnant. So what did we do? We took up the carpet and the padding so we could paint the sub floor hoping that would fix it. NOPE... Then we took out the old padding and put in new thinking that would fix it.... NOPE... Then we had just that spot cleaned again by a professional... NOPE... How did we solve the problem? We looked up.. How to get rid of cat pee in carpet... Here's a link to what we found: http://www.howtocleanthings.com/pets/how-to-clean-cat-urine.htm ..... Yes, vinegar, baking soda, peroxide, and water worked better then anything else! Can you believe it? So if urine a problem... Snicker snicker.... This worked for us! Now I don't feel like I need to throw-up every time I walk into my house. Yay!
Thanks for reading my post! I hope this was helpful in some way, even if it just made you smile. Be on the look out for the next post... Kitchen cabinet redo..... Ooohhhhh :)
